Off we go!
Just a few days out their den a Polar Bear (ursus maritimus) and her two cubs leave their day bed as they make there way tor the sea ice to find seals for the mother to eat. While the cubs are enjoying the fat-rich milk from there mother, the female bear has not eaten for somewhere between 4 and 8 months. Access to ice is critical for their survival. I really like the position of the cub between the mom's legs. It is as if the mom's front claw is cradling the cub's head.
